The British GT Championship and its organising entity the SRO Motorsports Group have ended the title sponsorship agreement between the series and the financial services provider Intelligent Money. The deal began in 2020 and continued through 2021, 2022, and 2023. An extension was announced last year through to 2026 but today’s news brings the Intelligent Money era to a close.

The SRO Motorsports Group have not announced a new title sponsor for the series, which enters the 2024 season as just the British GT Championship.

It is not the first time the series has been without a title sponsor. The series ran between 2017 and 2019 with no title sponsorship deal after the tyre supply deal with Avon Tyres, which included title sponsorship, came to an end.

The unexpected split seems amicable, with both British GT Championship Manager Lauren Granville and Intelligent Money founder Julian Penniston-Hill thanking their counterparts and giving best wishes.

The British GT Championship, as it now is, gets underway with a media day test at Donington Park on 12th March and it’s first two rounds at Oulton Park on Easter weekend.
