This morning, Carl Cavers and Lewis Plato became the first confirmed full-season entry to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship. The duo are stepping up from the GT4 Pro/Am category, which they stood a chance of claiming at the Donington Decider, to the GT3 Silver Cup for 2024.
Staying with Century Motorsport for the second year, they have transferred their popular and very noticeable livery to the BMW M4 GT3 for the new season. The Century crew know how to run a strong BMW, the team took the GT3 overall title with Darren Leung and Dan Harper last year.
Century also claimed the GT4 Teams title thanks to the efforts of Cavers and Plato alongside Chris Salkeld and Michael Johnston.
“I am delighted to be returning to British GT in 2024,” Plato said. “Carl and I enjoyed a tremendous season last year and now feel ready to mix it with the cream of GT3’s crop. The class is very different to when I raced a Mercedes SLS AMG there almost a decade ago, which sounds a bit surreal to be honest! Our initial focus is on Silver-Am – the class was very competitive last year and we expect it to be again.”
“After an absolutely great first year in British GT with Century Motorsport it seemed like we’d be delaying the inevitable if we didn’t jump up to the BMW M4 GT3 in 2024,” Carl Cavers added. “I’m absolutely over the moon to be back on the Intelligent Money British GT3 grid, and once again joined by my great friend and stella racing driver, Lewis. With Century’s support we’re looking forward to doing a lot more than making up the numbers.”
The crew will be joined by a capacity entry which will be announced over the next 8 weeks with the full entry confirmed at the British GT media day test on 12th March.
