British GT – R8 – Brands Hatch

The Intelligent Money British GT Championship season enters the home stretch with a two-hour race on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Swanley, Kent. With both the GT3 and GT4 overall titles poised to be possibly claimed during the penultimate round of the championship, it’s sure to be a thrilling weekend of action.

Jonny Adam and James Cottingham’s 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG enter the championship’s 8th round with a 28-point advantage over the Century Motorsport BMW of Darren Leung and Dan Harper. A win in Kent will see the GT3 title fall before the Donington Decider for the first time in 10 years.

After taking their third victory of the season in Portimao last time out, the duo have a 20-second compensation time to serve at their final pit stop at Brands which will hamper their chances of winning.

In GT4 it’s even more likely that the championship will be taken this weekend. The Optimum Motorsport crew of Jack Brown and Charles Clark hold a 33-point advantage over Michael Johnston and Chris Salkeld in the leading Century GT4. With 75 points on the table and 37.5 for a win, 7th overall will be enough to seal the deal.

While the GT3 leaders have a mountain to climb after their victory in Portugal, the GT4 leaders serve no compensation time at Brands Hatch.
