Callum Macleod will return for a full season in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship in 2023, partnering Mike Price at the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. Price steps up to the championship from GT Cup where the duo have been campaigning a McLaren 570S GT4 then the Mercedes-AMG in 2022.

Greystone GT will be running the effort along with a McLaren 720S GT3 for Andrey Borodin and Oli Webb. It’s the first time since 2014 that one team have attempted to run two different brands for a full season in the top class of British GT. The last time a team ran two different cars in the GT3 class in one season was in 2014 when United Autosports ran both a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 and an Audi R8 LMS GT3.

“I’m excited to step up to the British GT Championship with Greystone GT and Callum,” Mike Price told BritishGT.com. “He and I have raced together for the past two years and every time we’ve moved up a level, our performance level has raised with it. That’s absolutely the aim this year, which will be the first time for a while that I’ve had the same car two years in a row.

“Greystone GT are a new team for me, but I think they’re the right fit. Mark [McLoughlin] has built a proper racing business with the right infrastructure to continue growing and has lots of good people within the team; something that was obvious from racing against them over the past two years. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Callum Macleod added “I’m looking forward to the new season, which will be my first full-time year in British GT since 2019.” “Mike was keen to step up to British GT this year and Greystone GT do seem to be the ideal fit for us for the coming season. Mike’s progress was rapid in GT3 across his rookie season in 2022 and he was easily the most-improved driver in the class in GT Cup.

“I’ve won races in British GT throughout my career in the series so I know what I can reasonably expect from myself and from the Mercedes-AMG, and if Mike can continue to progress at the rate he’s shown over the past few years, I think we can aim for podiums by the end of the season.”

Team principal Mark McLoughlin is relishing the challenge of running another GT3 model in 2023. “It will be our first time running the Mercedes-AMG GT3, which is very exciting and means we’ll have three different GT3 models representing us on racetracks in various series this year. The test programme with the Mercedes-AMG starts in a few weeks as we work to make sure we’re ready to hit the ground running at Oulton.”

You can hear the guest special interview with Mark McLoughlin from 2022, before Greystone made their British GT debut, below.

Both the Greystone GT Mercedes and the previously announced McLaren will be present at the media day test at Donington Park in March.
