Since we built the microsite for the first race at Donington Park this year, the entry list has had some revisions. The entry is down to 34 cars for the 2-hour race on the Grand Prix circuit with both of the guest entries withdrawn.

The first guest entry to withdraw was the Redline Racing run Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO, formerly run by Balfe Motorsport. The car now runs a full season in GT Cup where it leads the GT3 standings with Sacha Kakad and Hugo Cook sharing the driving. The car was withdrawn before the official entry list was released on Thursday. Before the article was posted on the series website even.

The second withdrawn entry is for the #9 BMW M4 GT4 of Simon Watts and Jake Hill. The former McLaren racer and current BMW BTCC driver were due to run with Century Motorsport but according to the series’ social media, both the BMW and the Audi were withdrawn at around the same time, ‘due to separate issues’.

Previously announced was the withdrawal of the Simon Orange and Michael O’Brien-driven Orange Racing by JMH McLaren. Am driver Orange has rugby duties with Sale Sharks at Twickenham which gives the team more time to repair the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO after its monster shunt at Silverstone at the start of the month.

Also withdrawn is the Team BRIT McLaren 570S GT4 which was the other car involved in the accident at Silverstone. The team say the car has been withdrawn to focus on McLaren Trophy where the 570S has its own class, separate from the McLaren Artura GT4 which is currently leading the GT4 championship in British GT.

We expect to see the #68 car again at a later round, potentially Brands Hatch and the Donington Decider.
